Our School Day:
Â
08:30 – 09:00                Drop-off at the school gates. A member of staff will always be on duty to greet you. This is the perfect opportunity to ask                           questions, pass information and forms on to the school office, or discuss any other concerns. Some school extra-curricular activities                        (such as Wednesday Weekley Workouts) occur within this period.
09:00                Registers of attendance are taken and the school day begins. If your child is not attending school on any given day and you                         have not already completed and submitted a Request for Absence in Term Time form, then we would be grateful of an email                             (office@ashurstcofe-pri.w-susses.sch.uk) or a quick telephone call (01403 710426) before 9.00(am) to let us know.
10:15 – 10:30         Infant break time (when on the school playground).
10:30 – 10:45                Junior break time (when on the school playground).
10:20 – 10:40         Whole school break time (when on the school field/indoor wet play). We allocate an additional 5 minutes to this break to account                     for orderly transition to the school field/the setting up and packing away of ancillary equipment, so that children still benefit from the full                     15 minutes of scheduled play time.
12:00 – 12:55                Whole school lunch time. This period is loosely divided into two, with the first thirty minutes dedicated to eating lunch, and the                       remaining 25 minutes for play time. There is a five-minute window at the end of lunch to allow for tidying up of play equipment and                       pupils to return to their classroom in time for afternoon registration.
13:00Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Afternoon registers are taken.
15:30               End of school day. Please ensure that children are collected promptly.
15:30 – 16:15          After-school clubs. We run a variety of after-school clubs from Tuesday through to Friday, catering to range of age groups and                         interests. The sign-up form for after-school clubs is sent by email on a termly basis. After-school clubs are never scheduled to run in                       the last week of term.
Â
Each school day (including breaks, but not after-school clubs) equates to 6.5 hours from morning registration through to the end of the school day.
A typical school week is 32.5 hours.
